From April 2021 the District Council are going to be charging extra to collect domestic garden waste. The full price will be £50 per year.
To encourage take-up of the scheme DDDC is offering a discount of £15 to those who sign up early. Full details can be found here.

"GOOD NEWS! From the middle of next week (Wednesday 15 April) Serco, our waste collections & recycling partners, aim to resume normal collections of recyclable waste although garden waste collections will remain temporarily suspended.

Derbyshire Dales residents are being urged to have their say on possible changes to their waste and recycling collections before a public consultation closes on 23 September.
The District Council, which organises collections across 34,000 Dales households, has started the process of shaping the future collection service ahead of the current contract with Serco ending in August 2020.

The District Council's consultation on its car parking policy is now live and taking place across the district until 18 September 2017.

At the Parish Council meeting held on 13th March 2017 Derbyshire Dales District Council Rural Housing Enabler, Isabel Frenzel, gave a presentation of the results of the recent Housing Need Survey.
Whilst Middleton has a relatively high level of affordable properties comapred to other villages in the Derbyshire Dales, the survey identified 12 households in need of affordable housing.
