Parish Council Report - February 2020

Streetscene issues were very much to the fore at the Parish Council meeting held on Thursday 20th February 2020.

Since the January meeting CCllr Irene Ratcliffe has met with DCC Officers to discuss streetscene and highways issues, including the request to have the Middleton Road switched off streetlights returned to service, white-lining and ways to reduce inconsiderate parking in the village.

The Parish Council has asked DCC to undertake a speed survey on Main Street and we have been advised that this will take place in the next few weeks.

Also regarding the public realm, we have received a suggestion that the lighting on and around the Village Green is inadequate. Prior to taking this up with DCC Street Lighting we are inviting public comments on the matter. Do you think the lighting currently in place meets local need or could it be improved? If so, how? Please send your thoughts to Parish Clerk: John Rowe, c/o 1 Devonshire Villas, Upperwood Road, Matlock Bath, Derbyshire DE4 3PD. E-mail: clerk@middletonbywirksworth-pc.gov.uk."
