Vacancies

The Parish Council currently vacancies for three councillors. If you would like to discuss the role or to considered for co-option please contact the Parish Clerk.

Caretaker Vacancy Extended

There is a vacancy for a part time seasonal caretaker commencing 15th April 2019. Work involved includes strimming, mowing, litter picking, general maintenance, footpath clearance and sweeping, bulb/flower planting. Closing date is 9am Thursday 28th March 2019 and interviews will take place on the evening of Monday 8th April 2019. £8.36/hour. Job share considered. Middleton Memorial

The layout of the memorial was agreed at the February meeting. The names will be listed under three headings on two panels, one on either side of the central stone marking the centenary of the end of the First World War. The headings are "1914-1918 Those connected with Middleton who died", "1914-1918 Those who served" and "1939-1945 Those who died".

Elections

Drive Appropriately, Park Considerately

The Safer Neighbourhood Team's PC Pat Squires and PCSO Spencer Nixon attended the February meeting of the Parish Council at which a Community Speedwatch was requested as one measure to help address vehicles travelling at inappropriate speeds through the village. DCC are to be asked to undertake traffic monitoring, remove the markings from a redundant disabled parking bay on Main Street. Some white-lining is also to be undertaken, at which time it is hoped that markings at the bus turning area will be reinstated. Irrespective of the work being done the message remains "drive appropriately, park considerately."

Middleton Parish Council meets in the Committee Room of the Village Hall at 6.30pm on the second Monday of the month (except August). Members of the public are welcome to attend and may make representations during Public Speaking. You may stay for as much of the meeting you wish although on rare occasions some items may be held in exclusion of the public and press.
