The District Council's consultation on its car parking policy is now live and taking place across the district until 18 September 2017.
The review comes about following recommendations by the Community & Environment Committee, 16 March to review various aspects of the car parking policy. These include:

Gold Card holders are reminded to check validity dates on their cards as thousands are due to expire in the next few months.
Gold Card is Derbyshire's equivalent of the English National Concessionary Travel Scheme (ENCTS) which allows older and people with certain disabilities to travel free-of-charge, off-peak on local buses.

Derbyshire Dales District Council is to review its Public Space Protection Orders, as part of the process the Parish Council has been asked to look at the PSPOs as they affect Middleton and to consider any other areas that would benefit from them.

At the Parish Council meeting held on 13th March 2017 Derbyshire Dales District Council Rural Housing Enabler, Isabel Frenzel, gave a presentation of the results of the recent Housing Need Survey.
Whilst Middleton has a relatively high level of affordable properties comapred to other villages in the Derbyshire Dales, the survey identified 12 households in need of affordable housing.
