Cinema Middleton is in the frame...

At the December meeting of the Parish Council Cllr Dawn Greatorex congratulated Cinema Middleton on their success in securing a National Lottery Awards for All grant of £9,132 which will go some way to making the project a reality.

Since then we have learned that the group has secured a further £1000 from Central England Co-operative from its Making a Difference Community Dividend fund. This is more terrific news.. Read More »

Cinema Middleton

Plans are advancing for Middleton to have film showings at it's own cinema in the Village Hall. Under the Cinema for All community film society the Cinema Middleton Plan includes:
permanently mounted and electronically operated screen
digital projector
sound system - integrated with the existing induction loop
new seats
blackout blinds

Christmas Lights Switch On - Friday 24th November 2017

Middleton Village Green Committee are proud to announce the switch on of the Christmas Lights will take place at the Village Green at 6.30pm on Friday 24th November 2017.

  • There will be lots of fun for the whole family including:

Roll of Honour 2017

The 2017 Roll of Honour Award was decided at the October Parish Council Meeting

Jane Monaghan receives the 2017 award, nominations included the following commendations;

East Midlands in Bloom - Middleton scoops Silver Gilt Award

"Low cloud and intermittent showers did not stop this enthusiastic group of residents and gardeners showing off their gem of a village…" so begins the 2017 East Midlands in Bloom Judges Report.

The judging route included the wildflower meadows at Middleton Top, the school garden and the floral delights of the Village Green. The judges were particularly impressed by the renovation works at the Millennium Garden.. Read More »

Closure of A5012 Via Gellia Rd Cromford

The Parish Council has raised concerns with DCC Highways that the closure of the Via Gellia road has led to many more vehicles coming through the village than usual, including vehicles in excess of the weight limit. We have received the following response:

Derbyshire Dales District Council Car Park Consultation

The District Council's consultation on its car parking policy is now live and taking place across the district until 18 September 2017.

The review comes about following recommendations by the Community & Environment Committee, 16 March to review various aspects of the car parking policy. These include:

Derbyshire Gold Card Holders - Renewal Reminder

Gold Card holders are reminded to check validity dates on their cards as thousands are due to expire in the next few months.

Gold Card is Derbyshire's equivalent of the English National Concessionary Travel Scheme (ENCTS) which allows older and people with certain disabilities to travel free-of-charge, off-peak on local buses.
